Home Tutors in Gurgaon for Every Class, Board and Subject

To find the right home tutor in Gurgaon, start with four things: your child's class, board, subject or exam, and your sector. This page is a directory: each section says what to look for in a tutor for that need, then links to our detailed page for it and to all 14 of our Gurgaon area pages.

Ajay Vatsyayan Classes offers one-to-one home tuition, where the tutor comes to your home in Gurgaon (Gurugram), and one-to-one live online classes. We have worked in Gurgaon for 12+ years, with 25,000+ students, 500+ verified tutors and families from 50+ Gurgaon schools. Whether you searched for a private home tutor, a home tuition teacher or "home tutor near me", start with the section that matches what you know.

Home tutors by class

What makes a good tutor changes with age: patience and routine in primary school, subject depth and board practice by Class 9, and one specialist per subject in Classes 11–12.

ClassWhat to look for in the tutorOur page
Class 6Calm, clear explanations; builds homework and notebook habits; keeps maths basics (fractions, decimals, integers) secureClass 6 home tutors in Gurgaon
Class 7Moves the child from "doing sums" to reasoning: algebra, ratio and early science conceptsClass 7 home tutors in Gurgaon
Class 8Strong in Maths and Science together; spots gaps before Class 9 makes them expensiveClass 8 home tutors in Gurgaon
Class 9Knows the board's Class 9–10 syllabus as one course; begins timed practice and answer writingClass 9 home tutors in Gurgaon
Class 10Board-exam experience: sample and past papers, marking schemes, and a revision plan that ends on timeClass 10 home tutors in Gurgaon
Class 11Subject specialist for the stream (PCM, PCB or Commerce); handles the jump from Class 10Class 11 home tutors in Gurgaon
Class 12Board papers, practicals and projects, plus entrance preparation where needed, on one planClass 12 home tutors in Gurgaon

Classes 1–5: we also arrange home tutors for primary classes, usually one tutor for English, Maths and EVS or Science, focused on reading, writing, number sense and a steady homework routine. See home tutors for Classes 1 to 5.

Two moments matter most. In Class 10, CBSE now holds two board exams: the first, in February–March, is compulsory, and a second in May is optional, for improving marks in up to three main subjects (CBSE press release, 25 June 2025). See our guide to the CBSE Class 10 two board exams. Then comes the stream choice; read which stream to choose after Class 10, and for CBSE senior secondary see our CBSE Class 11 and 12 home tutors page.

From our tutors: when a Class 9 or Class 11 student "suddenly" struggles, the cause is usually an older gap: negative numbers in Class 9 algebra, or Class 10 trigonometry in Class 11 physics. A good tutor tests those basics in the first week instead of starting at the current chapter.

Home tutors by board: CBSE, ICSE/ISC, IGCSE and IB

Gurgaon schools follow at least four systems, and a tutor who is excellent in one can be a poor fit for another. Ask which board they have taught recently, at your child's level.

CBSE

Look for a tutor who teaches from NCERT first, knows the current CBSE sample papers and marking schemes, and plans around school unit tests and the board dates. See CBSE home tutors near you in Gurgaon, and for senior classes, the CBSE Class 12 Physics home tutor page.

ICSE and ISC

CISCE papers reward complete, well-presented answers. Look for a tutor who marks written working line by line and knows the CISCE specimen papers. See ICSE home tutors near you, the ICSE Class 10 Maths home tutor page and ISC home tutors for Classes 11–12. If you are weighing boards for entrance exams, read ISC vs CBSE for JEE and NEET.

Cambridge IGCSE

Many IGCSE subjects have two tiers. In Cambridge's 2026–2028 syllabuses for IGCSE Physics, Chemistry and Biology, students taught only the Core content can achieve at most grade C; those aiming for A* to C take the Extended content. A good IGCSE tutor helps you settle the tier early. See IGCSE home tutors in Gurgaon and IGCSE Maths home tuition in Gurugram.

IB (MYP and DP)

IB Diploma students take subjects at Standard Level or Higher Level, and internal assessments count towards the final grade, so look for a tutor who knows the current subject guide and can guide an IA without writing it. See IB home tutors in Gurgaon, the IB DP Maths AA HL home tutor page and the IB DP Physics home tutor page. IB and IGCSE students thinking about JEE can read JEE Maths for IB and IGCSE students.

Schools

We teach students from schools such as:

  • CBSE: Delhi Public School, Sector 45; Amity International School, Sector 46; Lotus Valley International School (Nirvana Country); Presidium, Sector 57.
  • ICSE and ISC: The Shri Ram School, Aravali; Shikshantar School (South City I); Lord Jesus Public School, Sector 8; MatriKiran High School.
  • Cambridge and IB alongside other boards: Scottish High International School (Sector 57); The Shri Ram School, Moulsari; Heritage Xperiential Learning School (Sector 62); Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon (DLF Phase 1).

(We are not affiliated with any school named here.)

Tell us your child's class, board and school, and we will suggest a tutor who already teaches that board, then arrange a free demo class at your home.

Up to about Class 8, one tutor can often cover Maths and Science. From Class 9, and certainly in Classes 11–12, choose a specialist for each hard subject.

Home tutors for JEE, NEET, CUET and BITSAT

For entrance exams, look for a tutor who has taught the exam itself and plans board and entrance preparation together. Figures below are from the 2026 official information bulletins; no 2027 bulletin had been published when we checked on 30 September 2026.

Exam (2026)Paper, per the official bulletinWhat to look for in the tutor
JEE Main, Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech)75 questions, 300 marks, 180 minutes: 25 each in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (20 MCQs and 5 numerical-value questions per subject); two sessions, January and AprilSpeed and accuracy under negative marking; chapter-wise past papers
JEE AdvancedTwo papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, both compulsory, for candidates who qualify through JEE Main; 2026 exam held on 17 May 2026Depth: multi-concept problems, not formula recall
NEET (UG)180 questions, 720 marks, 180 minutes: Physics 45, Chemistry 45, Biology 90NCERT-line accuracy in Biology; enough Physics numericals practice
CUET (UG)Up to five subjects, including languages and the General Aptitude Test; 50 questions and 60 minutes per test paperSubject revision on the Class 12 syllabus and timed MCQ practice
BITSATComputer-based, 130 questions in 180 minutes: Physics 30, Chemistry 30, English Proficiency 10, Logical Reasoning 20, Mathematics or Biology 40Speed across a long paper, plus English and reasoning practice

Foundation in Classes 9–10: for a future JEE or NEET aspirant, a Class 9–10 tutor can build algebra and physics basics beyond the syllabus, while keeping the board exam first.

By need: female tutor, online classes and more

Female home tutor

Many Gurgaon families ask for a female tutor, especially for younger children and girls. Female tutors are available on request; tell us when you book. Check the same things as for any tutor: board experience, verified identity and a demo you are comfortable with. See female home tutor in Gurgaon.

Live online classes

Online classes are one-to-one and live, with a shared whiteboard. They suit busy weeks, exam-time doubts, and senior students who want a particular specialist. Look for a tutor who asks to see the student's handwritten working, not just to be watched.

Board-exam and pre-board revision

From December to February, a personal tutor for board exams should work mainly from timed past and sample papers, then fix the errors, to a written week-by-week plan. See the CBSE Class 10 board exam study plan and the ISC board exam 2027 preparation plan.

Catch-up and remedial support

If a child has fallen behind, the right tutor rebuilds the missing basics before the current chapter and tells you honestly how long that will take.

From our tutors: in a first session, the most useful thing a tutor can do is read the child's last two school test papers. Lost marks usually fall into two or three patterns (a concept never understood, careless algebra, questions left for lack of time), and each needs a different fix.

How to choose a home tutor in Gurgaon

The right tutor fits your child's board, level and goal, reaches your home reliably, and teaches in a way your child responds to. A demo class tells you more than a CV.

  1. Write down the need. Class, board, school, subjects, goal (school marks, board exam, JEE, NEET, CUET, catch-up) and sector.
  2. Match the board and level. A CBSE Class 12 tutor is not automatically right for IB DP or ICSE Class 10.
  3. Specialist or all-rounder? One tutor suits Classes 1–5 and often 6–8; from Class 9, use specialists for Maths and the sciences.
  4. Use the demo properly. Give the tutor a real chapter and a recent test paper. Watch who does most of the writing: in a good session, the student does.
  5. Ask for a plan. After the demo, the tutor should be able to say what the first four to six weeks will cover and how progress will be checked.
  6. Settle the terms. Days, timings, home or online, the fee and updates, agreed before regular classes begin.
  7. Review after a month. Judge by school tests and homework confidence, not by how much was "covered".

Who teaches with us: tutors from the Ajay Vatsyayan Classes Home Tutors Team. Our tutors have 5–15 years of teaching experience, and the team includes IIT and NIT graduates. Every tutor is interviewed and checked for subject knowledge and board experience before being assigned, and you can ask for a male or female tutor. Our content, including this page, is reviewed by our founder, Ajay Vatsyayan.

A short checklist before you say yes

  • Has the tutor recently taught this board and class?
  • Did the demo include checking the child's own school work?
  • Did your child write and solve during the demo, not just listen?
  • Is there a written plan for the next month, tied to school test dates?
  • Can the tutor reach your home reliably at the agreed time?
  • Are the fee and sessions per week confirmed before you start?
  • How and how often will you get progress updates?
  • For younger children, is an adult at home during sessions? Would you prefer a female tutor?
  • Is anyone promising guaranteed marks or ranks? Be wary.

Old Gurugram, MG Road and Sectors 1–39: society pages

Families in old Gurugram, along MG Road and NH-8, and in Sectors 1–39 are covered too. If your society is not listed below, call us anyway: we suggest tutors who can reach your home, or live online classes.

Frequently asked questions, including fees

How much does a home tutor cost in Gurgaon?

One-to-one home tuition with us usually costs ₹600 to ₹3,000 per hour depending on class, board and subject. Sessions a week, and home or online, also affect it. We confirm your fee before the demo class. Our guide to home tuition charges in Gurgaon explains what is fair.

How do I find a home tutor near me in Gurgaon?

Call or WhatsApp +91 92204 75088, or use the contact form, with the class, board, subjects and your sector or society. We suggest a tutor who has taught that board and can reach your home, and arrange a free demo class. Every lesson is one-to-one, at home or online.

Is the demo class really free?

Yes. The tutor takes a free demo class, and you decide only after seeing how they teach.

Can I ask for a female tutor?

Yes. Female tutors are available on request for most classes and subjects; tell us when you book. See our female home tutor in Gurgaon page.

Can one tutor teach every subject?

For Classes 1–5, usually yes, and it helps with routine. In Classes 6–8 one tutor often covers Maths and Science. From Class 9, and especially in Classes 11–12 or for JEE and NEET, we recommend a specialist for each difficult subject.

Is home tuition better than online classes?

Neither suits everyone. Home tuition suits building habits and checking written work; online suits doubt sessions, exam weeks and access to a particular specialist. Many families use both.

Do you guarantee marks or ranks?

No. We promise a tutor matched to your child's board and goal, a clear plan, and honest feedback. Nobody can honestly guarantee marks or ranks.
