For families in DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon, Ajay Vatsyayan Classes arranges one-to-one home tuition and live online classes. A single tutor teaches a single student, for any class from 1 to 12, on CBSE, ICSE/ISC, Cambridge IGCSE or IB, with JEE and NEET preparation for older students and a female tutor if you ask for one.
Two schools inside DLF Phase 4 follow different boards: Ridge Valley School is CBSE, and The Shri Ram School, Aravali follows CISCE (ICSE and ISC). So in Phase 4 the CBSE-or-ICSE question comes up naturally, especially as Class 9 approaches. Alongside the usual details, this page sets CBSE and ICSE side by side for the Class 9–10 years.
You get a tutor from our Home Tutors Team who comes to your home in DLF Phase 4, or teaches online when that suits you better, and who works only with your child during the session.
Our tutors have 5–15 years of teaching experience, and the team includes IIT and NIT graduates. Over 12+ years in Gurgaon (Gurugram), 25,000+ students have learned with us.
We teach throughout DLF Phase 4. You can describe your home by the Galleria market or the Supermart area, and the Galleria area is one of our society pages. The Hamilton Court complex, home to The Shri Ram School, Aravali, is another useful reference point.
When you get in touch, a nearby landmark such as Galleria or Supermart, or your block and house number, is enough for us to suggest a tutor who can reach you at the times you want.
We teach students from schools such as Ridge Valley School (DLF Phase IV), The Shri Ram School, Aravali (Hamilton Court Complex, DLF Phase IV), Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon, The Pine Crest School and Summer Fields School, DLF (we are not affiliated with any school named here).
Classes 9 and 10 are where the two boards feel most different to a student. The syllabus topics overlap a great deal; the way they are packaged and examined does not. Here is how the differences shape our tuition.
| CBSE (for example Ridge Valley) | ICSE (for example Shri Ram Aravali) | |
|---|---|---|
| Mathematics | Offered at two levels, Standard and Basic; the choice affects Mathematics options in Class 11 | One Mathematics paper for everyone, with no Standard or Basic split |
| Science | One Science subject covering physics, chemistry and biology | Physics, Chemistry and Biology as three separate papers |
| English | One English subject | English Language and English Literature as separate papers |
| Social studies | One Social Science subject | History and Civics, and Geography, as separate papers |
| Assessment style | NCERT-based; competency and case-based questions | Long, well-structured written answers; internal assessment in most subjects |
| Board exams | Two Class 10 board exams, the second optional | One ICSE examination at the end of Class 10 |
Teach from NCERT first, then move to competency-based and case-based questions. Help the family decide on Mathematics Standard or Basic well before the choice is due; our guide to CBSE Class 10 Maths Standard vs Basic explains what each keeps open.
Plan the year across more separate papers, keep Physics, Chemistry and Biology moving together, and practise full written answers under time. For maths support, see our ICSE Class 10 maths home tutor page.
From our tutors: ICSE students tend to lose marks in Physics and Mathematics through missing steps and units rather than wrong ideas. We ask for every numerical to be written as formula, substitution, answer with unit, until it becomes automatic.
From our tutors: CBSE students who have only practised textbook exercises are often surprised by case-based questions, where a paragraph of context hides a standard idea. We practise reading the case first, underlining the data, and naming the chapter before solving.
After Class 10, a student may stay on the same board or switch. Our pages on ISC tuition for Classes 11–12 and CBSE Class 11–12 PCM, PCB and Commerce cover the next stage.

Families from other societies and blocks around DLF Phase 4 are just as welcome to call us, even if their society does not appear here.
Yes. We suggest tutors by board, so an ICSE student gets a tutor who teaches the ICSE syllabus and its paper pattern, not a CBSE tutor adapting on the fly.
For Classes 9 and 10, often yes. If one of the three needs specialist attention, we can add a second tutor for that subject.
Yes, on request. Tell us when you call so we can suggest a tutor who teaches it.
One-to-one home tuition with us usually costs ₹600 to ₹3,000 per hour depending on class, board and subject. For a fuller picture, see home tuition charges in Gurgaon.
Ideally in Class 9, because much of the Class 10 board work builds on it. Starting at the beginning of Class 10 still leaves time for a full syllabus and revision cycle.
Yes. Say you would like a female tutor when you get in touch, and we will put forward one for the board and subjects your child needs.
