How one-to-one Class 12 tuition works

Our Class 12 tuition runs in four steps: a diagnostic, a written plan, a weekly teaching cycle, and timed paper practice with review. Class 12 is short, so the plan starts from evidence.

Step 1: The diagnostic

The first session is a short test on chapters already done at school, followed by a review together. In Class 12, lost marks usually come from four places:

• Class 11 gaps: weak mechanics, calculus basics, mole concept or partnership fundamentals that Class 12 chapters build on.
• Derivations and long answers: knowing a result but not showing where it comes from.
• Presentation: missing units, unlabelled diagrams, skipped steps or wrong formats in Accountancy.
• Time: too slow to finish a three-hour paper.

Step 2: The plan

The tutor writes a plan with the family: chapters in the school's order, unit tests, mid-terms, pre-boards, practical and project deadlines, and the board exam window. For JEE, NEET or CUET aspirants it also marks the entrance exam dates and the topics that go beyond the board syllabus.

Step 3: The weekly cycle

Two or three sessions of 60–90 minutes a week per subject: teach the chapter the school is on (from NCERT for CBSE, or the ISC syllabus), then board-style questions, with a practice set and an error log in between. A third session can carry entrance work or Class 11 revision.

Step 4: Paper practice and review

From November, the student writes full sample papers under time. The tutor marks them against the official marking scheme and sorts every lost mark: did not know, slipped, ran out of time, or wrote it the wrong way.

From our tutors: the students who find Class 12 hardest are usually carrying Class 11 gaps: electrostatics leans on vectors, calculus on functions and limits. One short Class 11 repair session a week in April and May saves many hours later.

The CBSE Class 12 board exam in 2026–27

CBSE Class 12 has one main board exam, held from February into early April, with a supplementary exam in July for students who need it. The facts below come from CBSE's Senior Secondary Curriculum 2026–27 on cbseacademic.nic.in and notices on cbse.gov.in, checked on 30 September 2026.

When the exam happens

• 2026 main exam: CBSE's results press release (13 May 2026) gives the Class 12 schedule as 17 February to 9 April 2026 (52 days).
• 2027: CBSE began the List of Candidates for the 2026–27 exams on 17 September 2026; the date sheet was not yet out.
• Supplementary exam: in 2026 it was held on 28 July for all subjects.
• Two board exams? The two-exam scheme CBSE started in 2026 applies to Class 10. Class 12 still has a single main exam.
• Marking: CBSE marked the 2026 Class 12 answer books on screen (On Screen Marking), so neat, well-set-out answers matter.

Marks by subject (CBSE 2026–27)

Passing and the question paper

• Pass mark: 33% in each subject. In a subject with practicals, CBSE's pass criteria require 33% in theory and 33% in practical separately, as well as 33% overall.
• Question design: the 2026–27 Maths paper gives about 55% of marks to remembering and understanding, 25% to applying, and 20% to analysing, evaluating and creating, with internal choice in about a third of questions.
• Deleted content: CBSE notes that content marked as excluded in NCERT textbooks for 2026–27 is not tested. It may still be in the JEE or NEET syllabus, so check before skipping it.

ISC 2027: how it differs

ISC is the Class 12 exam of CISCE. For 2027, a student takes English plus four or five electives, the pass mark is 35% in each subject, and the student must pass five or six subjects including English. The facts below come from the ISC 2027 Regulations and subject syllabuses on cisce.org, checked on 30 September 2026. The 2027 ISC timetable had not been published at that date.

Physics tuition near me for Class 12: the subject families ask about most. CBSE Physics has 14 chapters in nine units. Class 12 with JEE, NEET and CUET

Boards and entrance exams are mostly the same work at two depths: our tutors teach each chapter to entrance depth, then add board answer-writing. Three official facts shape the year:

• Board marks still count for NITs. The JEE (Main) 2026 Information Bulletin says admission to NITs, IIITs and other institutes in the NIT+ system needs at least 75% aggregate in five Class 12 subjects (65% for SC, ST and PwD candidates), or a place in the category-wise top 20 percentile of the candidate's board. Check JoSAA rules for your year.
• JEE Main overlaps the boards. In 2026, Session 1 ran from 21 to 30 January and Session 2 from 2 to 9 April, the same week the CBSE Class 12 exams ended. Class 11 revision cannot wait until after the boards.
• CUET (UG) follows the Class 12 syllabus. The NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin says domain subjects follow the NCERT syllabus, candidates choose up to five subjects, and the computer-based exam was scheduled for 11–31 May 2026 (tentative).

NEET (UG) 2026 was a pen-and-paper test of 180 questions for 720 marks; check NTA notices for 2027.

Worked examples: where Class 12 marks are won and lost

Three typical board questions, with the working a marking scheme looks for and the slip we see most often.

Physics: a convex lens

An object is placed 30 cm in front of a convex lens of focal length 20 cm. Find the position of the image and the magnification.

Using the lens formula 1/v − 1/u = 1/f with the Cartesian sign convention, u = −30 cm and f = +20 cm. So 1/v = 1/20 + 1/(−30) = 3/60 − 2/60 = 1/60, and v = +60 cm: a real image 60 cm behind the lens. Magnification m = v/u = 60/(−30) = −2, so the image is inverted and twice the size of the object.

Where marks go: mixing sign conventions gives v = 12 cm. State the convention and what the signs mean.

Mathematics: integration by parts

Evaluate the integral of x·eˣ from 0 to 1.

Take u = x and dv = eˣ dx, so ∫x·eˣ dx = x·eˣ − ∫eˣ dx = x·eˣ − eˣ = eˣ(x − 1). Apply the limits: at x = 1 the value is e(0) = 0; at x = 0 it is 1 × (−1) = −1. The answer is 0 − (−1) = 1.

Where marks go: treating the lower-limit term as zero gives 0, not 1.

Accountancy: new profit-sharing ratio

A and B share profits in the ratio 3:2. They admit C for a 1/5 share, which C takes from A and B in their old ratio. Find the new ratio.

After C's 1/5, A and B keep 4/5 of the profit between them. A's new share is 3/5 × 4/5 = 12/25; B's is 2/5 × 4/5 = 8/25; C's is 1/5 = 5/25. The new ratio is 12:8:5. As a check, A gives up 15/25 − 12/25 = 3/25 and B gives up 10/25 − 8/25 = 2/25, a sacrificing ratio of 3:2, the same as the old ratio.

Where marks go: a bare answer with no working notes.

CBSE had not published the 2027 date sheet when we last checked (30 September 2026). In 2026 the Class 12 exams ran from 17 February to 9 April, so plan to be exam-ready by early February.
