Home Tutor for The Shri Ram School, Aravali Students – One-to-One ICSE and ISC Tuition in Gurgaon

The Shri Ram School, Aravali prepares its senior students for CISCE examinations, so parents looking for extra help usually want a tutor who understands ICSE and ISC papers, not a generic CBSE approach. Ajay Vatsyayan Classes offers one-to-one home tuition in DLF Phase 4 and across Gurugram, as well as live online lessons, for every class from 1 to 12.

Ajay Vatsyayan Classes is an independent home-tuition service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to The Shri Ram School, Aravali. The founder, Ajay Vatsyayan, has taught ISC students from The Shri Ram School (no affiliation). More widely, families from schools such as The Shri Ram School, Aravali book our tutors, and our 12+ years in Gurgaon span 25,000+ students.

What The Shri Ram School, Aravali's board means for tuition

The school follows the CISCE system: the ICSE examination at the end of Class 10 and the ISC examination at the end of Class 12, both set by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (cisce.org). Tuition therefore has to prepare a child for detailed written answers, separate science papers and a strong emphasis on English.

Early years (Classes 1–5)

Before the board years there is no single national textbook anchoring the course in the way NCERT anchors CBSE, so the tutor works from your child's own books, worksheets and notebooks. The priorities are confident reading, clear handwriting, arithmetic fluency and curiosity in science and the world around them.

Middle years (Classes 6–8)

These are the years to build the English that ICSE later demands: grammar, composition, comprehension and reading whole books rather than extracts. In maths, the tutor secures fractions, ratio and early algebra, and in science begins the habit of learning physics, chemistry and biology as distinct subjects with their own vocabulary.

ICSE Classes 9–10

ICSE is broad and writing-heavy. English is assessed through separate Language and Literature papers, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are examined as individual papers, and History and Civics sits beside Geography. Most subjects also carry internal assessment through practical or project work. A tutor helps a student plan these projects early so they do not collide with revision.

ISC Classes 11–12

ISC Class 12 papers are set by CISCE, and most science subjects combine a theory paper with practical and project components. In ISC Mathematics, Section A is compulsory and students then choose between Section B and Section C, a choice worth making deliberately with the tutor. For students also targeting JEE or NEET, the tutor maps ISC chapters against the entrance syllabus, because the order and depth of topics differ from the NCERT sequence many entrance books follow.

From our tutors: ICSE and ISC science answers reward precise definitions, correct units and clearly labelled diagrams. Students who understand a concept well still lose credit when they write it loosely, so our tutors mark written answers line by line, not just the final number.

How one-to-one tuition fits around the school year

One-to-one tuition works well when it follows the rhythm of your child's own school year rather than a fixed syllabus of its own.

  • Early in the year: a diagnostic session, a look at the new books and last year's answer sheets, and a plan shared with you in writing.
  • Through each term: the tutor stays close to the current chapter, strengthens written answers and keeps a running list of topics to revisit.
  • Project and practical season: help with planning, research and write-up for internal assessment work, while the student does the work themselves.
  • Before school examinations: focused revision against the syllabus the school shares, with timed answers and feedback.
  • Board years: in Classes 10 and 12, CISCE specimen papers and past papers become the core of every session in the final months.

Families can raise or lower the number of weekly sessions at any point, which matters in busy ICSE and ISC years.
