Parents at Suncity School in Suncity Township, Sector 54, often ask us the same thing: can one tutor handle a school that offers CBSE, Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma? The honest answer is that no single plan fits all three, and a good tutor should not pretend otherwise. What works is a one-to-one tutor who is matched to your child's board and class, and who teaches from that board's own syllabus at your home in Gurgaon or online.
Ajay Vatsyayan Classes is an independent home-tuition service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Suncity School, Sector 54. The quick answer: the board your child sits changes the textbook, the style of question and the kind of coursework, so the tutor is chosen for that board and follows the child's own track. Below, the needs are set out class stage by class stage.
Whatever the later board, the primary years decide how easily a child copes afterwards. Tutors work on phonics and reading stamina, mental arithmetic, sentence-level writing and simple Hindi. The aim is a child who can read a question twice, underline what it asks and try it alone.
Middle school brings separate Science and Social Science chapters, algebra and longer English writing. For CBSE students the tutor teaches from the current NCERT textbooks; for children heading towards IGCSE, the tutor also starts building the precise written explanations that Cambridge papers reward.
These two routes diverge sharply. CBSE Class 10 ends in a board examination based on NCERT, with Maths offered as Standard or Basic and a substantial share of competency-based questions; the official sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in show the current pattern. Cambridge IGCSE, awarded by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), is a two-year course where many subjects are taken at Core or Extended level. IGCSE science includes a practical paper or an alternative to practical, and every syllabus is published on cambridgeinternational.org. An IGCSE tutor spends much of Year 2 on past papers and mark-scheme language.
CBSE students pick a stream (PCM, PCB, Commerce or Humanities) and many start JEE or NEET preparation in Class 11. IB Diploma students take six subjects, three normally at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS, and each subject has an Internal Assessment. For DP Maths, the tutor first checks whether your child is on Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation, and at SL or HL, because the four courses differ a great deal. The subject guides are available through ibo.org.

Tuition helps most when it runs a week ahead of trouble rather than a week behind it. A typical year with one of our tutors looks like this:
From our tutors' experience, the commonest problem across all three boards is not missing knowledge but unread questions: students answer what they expect rather than what is asked. We practise slowing down on this from the very first session.
Suncity Township is in Sector 54, and our tutors cover the wider belt described on our Sectors 51–59 home tuition page. Sector 54 societies we teach in include:
