Home Tutor for Lotus Valley International School Students in Gurgaon – One-to-One CBSE Tuition

Lotus Valley International School, in Nirvana Country (South City II, Sector 50), follows the CBSE curriculum. That makes the tutor's job clear in one sense: the NCERT textbook is the backbone from Class 1 to Class 12. What changes from year to year is the skill a child needs to get the most from it, whether that is reading fluently, handling algebra, writing board-style answers or solving JEE-level problems. Our tutors teach one-to-one, at your home in Gurgaon or online.

Ajay Vatsyayan Classes is an independent home-tuition service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Lotus Valley International School. Since we started in Gurugram 12+ years ago, families from schools such as Lotus Valley International School have booked our tutors, and our tutors bring 5–15 years of teaching experience each.

What Lotus Valley International School's board means for tuition

Short version: with CBSE, the textbook sets the content and the board sets the question style, so tuition blends NCERT depth with practice in the formats CBSE uses. Here is what that looks like at each stage.

Classes 1–5: foundations

Young children need reading, writing and number sense more than extra chapters. A tutor at this stage works on phonics and comprehension, times tables, word problems in English and Hindi, and the patience to check an answer. Short sessions of 45 minutes to an hour usually work better than long ones.

Classes 6–8: the middle-school jump

This is where Maths turns abstract with integers, algebra and geometry proofs, and Science and Social Science become fact-heavy. CBSE's newer NCERT books for these classes are activity-led, and CBSE is bringing in a third language from Class 6. Tutors help children keep three languages, two sciences and a new Maths book organised, and make sure notebook work is complete before the half-yearly exams.

Classes 9–10: preparing for the board

Class 9 is not a rest year; most Class 10 chapters build straight on it. In Class 10 the student chooses Maths Standard or Basic, and the board paper includes competency-based and case-study questions. Our tutors finish NCERT exercises and examples thoroughly, then move to the official sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in. Social Science answers get particular attention, since students often know the content but lose credit for unstructured answers.

Classes 11–12: streams and entrance exams

Class 11 is the steepest step in the CBSE journey. PCM students meet calculus, vectors and mechanics; PCB students face a large Biology syllabus; Commerce students begin Accountancy from scratch. Many students also prepare for JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET, whose syllabuses overlap heavily with the NCERT for Classes 11 and 12. A one-to-one tutor can plan both together, so board revision and entrance practice support each other rather than compete.

Subjects and classes we cover

We teach every class from 1 to 12 in every CBSE subject, including Applied Mathematics for Commerce students who do not take the standard Maths course. The table shows where a tutor typically begins, which is rarely the chapter the school is on this week; most children need a few older gaps closed first.

ClassSubjectsWhere the tutor usually starts
1–5English, Maths, Hindi, EVSReading level and number facts
6–8Maths, Science, Social Science, English, Hindi, Sanskrit or third language, Computer ScienceFractions, algebra basics and answer writing

How one-to-one tuition fits around the school year

In most CBSE schools the year has a natural shape: new chapters, periodic tests, half-yearly exams, more chapters, then finals or boards. Your tutor works with that shape instead of fighting it.

  • Start of the session: begin fresh chapters alongside school and repair last year's weak areas.
  • Before each periodic test: one session of focused revision on the chapters in that test.
  • Project and practical work: guidance on Science practical files, Maths lab activities and Social Science projects, done by the student.
  • Half-yearly and pre-board phases: full papers with a timer, followed by a review of every mistake.
  • Summer and winter breaks: a lighter routine that fixes one foundation or previews a tough unit.

One pattern our tutors notice every year in Class 10 Maths: students skip NCERT examples and go straight to exercises, then struggle with case-study questions that are built on exactly those examples. We work through the examples first.
